Writer's Guidelines
Current Needs: None. Acceptance of materials for Spring 2002 (March) will be reviewed and considered only after December 2001. However, please drop us a line and allow us to keep you updated by e-mail on our needs by writing us: writers@amethystmoon.com . Please read all guidelines, pay scale and review magazine before inquiry.
 | We pay upon acceptance. Checks issued from our main company, Amethyst Moon, are mailed 2-3 weeks after a confirmation of acceptance via e-mail. |
| Read the pay scale! We don't pay much - but we do pay. Don't submit if you can't live with our pay. |
| We are a very small company/publisher and do this part-time. Be patient with us. |
| We are a web publisher, not print. Write for the web -- keep it light and interesting. Think People Magazine - not Scientific Journal. |

| Need more non-fiction, than fiction. |
| Read the other columns to get a feel for the e-magazine. |
| We also sell gifts (angels, dragons, dolphins, Merlin) and sell books. Use these as possible tie-ins. |
| Get us a paying advertiser and your writers rates may go up! |
| No X-rated materials. Keep it clean. Also no TV/Movie fiction stories. |
| Rights: We publish your material on the web with your permission upon acceptance of material. We do archive materials and will keep your materials indefinitely on our web site. All rights are retained by you. |
| We archive during the next issue so your material gets plenty of exposure. |
| However, all right revert back to you upon posting. You may re-sell, re-work or re-write the material as you see fit. We would however be appreciative if you re-sell the material to put in a line about "Originally published in Beyond Infinity." But that's just so we can plug our magazine and get the word out about it. |
| We will send you an e-mail upon acceptance. |
| We would like to reserve the right to be able to publicize you and your materials in future press releases, etc. If you've got something to publicize, let us know! Also, let us know if you object to having free publicity! |
| Columnists - We will use regular correspondence to talk with columnists - if use another name and don't want your real name publicized, let us know. Otherwise, we may leak your name to the other writers. |
| We reserve the right to edit materials for content or space. |
| We really encourage you to send materials in MS Word or Lotus Word Pro, or something that can be formatted. DON'T send your materials incorporated in your e-mail. It takes forever to format. |
| Upon acceptance we will ask for your real name, address and phone number. |
| All writers/columnists are considered independent contractors - free-lance writers and are not employees of Amethyst Moon. |
| We currently publish 2 times a year; in 2002 we are aiming for 4 times. |

Curses & Blessings - Hope Diamond, Lourdes, etc.
Oriental Magic - Asian themes, myths, I-Ching, etc.
Celtic Magic - England, Ireland, Scotland, druids, etc. (also Camelot, Merlin, Excalibur,
Arthur)
Northern Europe - Viking, Norway/Scandinavian
Some Topic Ideas: Ufo's, feng shui, aromatherapy, ghosts, crystals,
pagan magic, divination, fortena, animal communication, gardening, herbs,
occult, angels.
Sources for Ideas: up-coming movies and TV shows, newspaper
and magazine articles, books, etc. Think spiritual and motivational
(Oprah), as well as metaphysical (X-Files, Mysterious Ways, etc.).
