Chapter Two: the Adventure Continues in New Mexico

I am the caretaker of many skulls now, but it all began over 5 years ago...learn how I acquired the love of crystal skulls, what they mean to me and to all of us and how they can come into your life!

I am caretaker of three crystal skulls at present-- Harvey, a 2 inch quartz skull, Magpie - a small rose quartz skull and my newest little friend, a purple goldstone guy by the name of Arthur.

It was several years ago that I met Joshua Shapiro, a crystal skull expert and author of two books on crystal skulls. I met him through a mutual friend, Kristy, and at the time I thought crystal skulls, well to be quite honest, unusual and a bit weird. But then so am I as I've been talking to ghosts since I was 12 and that was quite a number of years ago.

But none the less, the crystal skulls were also fascinating and so about two years ago, while in Sedona, Arizona, I was drawn to bring into my life my first crystal skull, who just became more active this year when he was introduced to Joshua’s skull, "Portal de Luz" (Portal of Light). "Portal" is a large quartz contemporary skull that has been introduced to several ancient skulls due his short life time and has become a wonderful healing and communication instrument for thousands of people around the globe.

By some odd reason, one I am still trying to figure out, I hadn't thought of Joshua for years, when he suddenly popped into my head several months ago. I remember wondering why (although truly I should know better by now!) but the reason became apparent when I saw that he and his wife Desy were touring in Chicago, promoting their new book, "The Crystal Skull Explorers." Of course, I went to the lecture, wondering why I was suddenly drawn to crystal skulls and finally getting a name from the crystal skull that I was caretaker of. I had called him "Yellow Jaw", because he has a small yellow piece of quartz embedded in his lower jaw.

He finally revealed to me that his name was "Harvey." The name Harvey has always provided me with fond memories of the James Stewart film about the lovable pooka or invisible rabbit. It is one of my very favorite films. So I felt the name was fitting to my new quartz companion.

I was also compelled to seek more information about the crystal skulls, so of course I started with the internet, which lead me to E-bay, where I got my other new companions. When I got to see Joshua again, the two new crystal skulls hadn't arrived, but I brought Harvey who Desy and Joshua welcomed with open arms. Harvey got to meet other skulls for the first time in a long time and became "activated." Since that visit, I have been eagerly devouring Joshua and Desy's new book, slowly printing the ebook out and reading all the fascinating tales from other caretakers.

And so here I am, a new caretaker...a seeker of more knowledge...to what end I am not certain, but no doubt an exciting journey for sure!

The power of the crystal skulls is amazing. I have been studying Joshua’s book, a fascinating study of the crystal skulls from many points of view including indigenous people, scientists and the caretakers themselves. Caretaker is the title given the person who is taking care of a crystal skull – whether ancient or contemporary.

Apparently when one is assigned a caretaker role, there’s no going back with crystal skulls – this is what I am finding.

Harvey was my first crystal skull. With a sudden passionate enthusiasm to learn more about the crystal skulls, I quickly turned to the internet and learned the place where many buy crystal skulls – E-Bay. I found myself so inclined to buy another crystal skull – I chose – or perhaps it chose me – a small rose quartz "singing" skull – that is it’s little mouth was carved in an open position. This little skull was a fairly expensive piece – prices can vary greatly, I was quick to find out, depending on the quality of the carving, the type of stone –mostly a form of quartz and the size. Contemporary skulls can be found in a variety of sizes – from the size of an apple to a walnut – the most common sizes. Large sizes are considerable more expensive and can range in the hundred, if not thousands of dollars.

Harvey is the size of an large apple, while my little rose quartz skull whose name is Lucy, is little larger than walnut.

Lucy told me her name several weeks after she entered my life. I had named her Magpie. Names are often given to the caretakers by their skills. I have been told that it is not necessarily the name but the actually vibration of the sound, that is used when a name is given.

After Lucy joined Harvey, she was quickly joined as a purple gold tone skull joined us – he

says his name is Arthur. Together they form the Council of Three and emit powerful energies when place side by side – left to right with Harvey first, Lucy in the middle and Arthur on the right.

This was how I presented the skulls to my friend Leann one day in November. She really hadn’t any exposure to any crystal skulls and the little she knew was what I had already told her. She wasn’t expecting any type of experience, but was polite when I told her I wanted to show her the Council.

When I placed the Council in front of her, from the their backs I could feel their energy hit me. Leann, a beginning sensitive, felt an palpable wham of energy hit her and was almost literally thrown backwards. She was amazed at the power of the skulls. The energy was beginning to build to a point where neither of us could tolerate it. I moved the skulls around and it changed the frequency immediately, lessen the energy surge that was emanating from the Council.

As I moved the skulls around, both Leann and I noticed the difference in the frequencies and vibration coming from the skulls. I finally had to put the skulls across the room and separate them so we could let up on the intense energy. It was an amazing experience.

As I continued to work with my skulls and continued to read more about the skulls, I realized that the power we felt that day was in great part to the generosity of both Desy and Joshua, for Harvey was allowed to be in the presence of Portal de Luz and Moses of Peace and Unity – the Sharpiros main skulls who have traveled around the world and have been in personal contact with several ancient skulls – including the British Museum skull, E.T, the Amethyst Crystal Skull and the Mitchell-Hedges skull, all ancient and some of the most famous ancient skulls unearthed.

Harvey was activated with the power of these ancients through the linkage of Portal and Mozes. Harvey, in turn, has activated Lucy and Arthur. This is one of the ways a skull can be "activated" or tuned into the web of skulls.

I have had very intense dreams when the Council has been placed by my bedside. Both good and bad dreams can be appear very real. A day ago a very bad dream caused me to be scared and I placed the Council away from bedside, chastising them, "You guys scared me!"

A collective voice told me that nightmares are my psyche’s way of working on issues that I needed to deal with – it’s part of the healing process. That’s what part of the skulls purposes are for – healing.

I’ve also been told they work best in prime numbers – or in odd numbers – for vibrational purposes. When I was compelled to bid on yet another skull, which would bring the total to four – an even number, I was bought another quartz skull.

This fourth skull was a compulsion when I was driving and looking at a odd building – it had large red and white horizontal strips – but what I saw was a huge crystal skull superimposed over the building. It was a bit unnerving. Later that day, I got a flash of insight of a crystal skull with a red top. Usually I wouldn’t be drawn to a red and white skulls.

But yet I was on E-Bay that night, and found the skulls that had popped into my mind early. It was a red jasper skull – of course, I put a bid in—and five days later was the winner. That was this evening – I will await the skull’s arrival to learn his/her name. But in the meantime, I looked up the meaning of jasper and what I found was very interesting.

Jasper is a type of stone….just what I needed at the time.

When this stone was ordered, I also ordered another small quartz skull – so that I would retain a odd number of skulls, which seems to be what my group wants. When they first arrived, I named the red skull Gasper, because it sounded like Jasper and Gasper is reputed to be the name of one of the Wise Men. But tonight, Gasper finally spoke and told me in no uncertain terms that Her name was Madeline! So I have corrected that error with apologies to my new friend.

In the meantime, during Thanksgiving I took the smaller new quartz skull over to see my sister and get him exposed to a family vibration. All were in good spirits over the holiday and the experience was a positive one – so far the name Bertram has stuck with him – a name I received when he first arrived. Although I have noticed that sometimes the skulls do change names. So it’s Bertram for the time being, unless he tells me otherwise.

I know other skulls will be a part of life and I continue to learn about these fascinating instruments of healing and communication. I plan to communicate with others who have crystal skulls to learn even more and share their stories with my own. Pieces of my life are beginning to take on new meaning and are coming together like a jigsaw puzzle.

For example when I was in Sedona, I visited a psychic who told me that I was originally a star person – someone not from Earth, but rather from one of the races that came to ancient Earth times – to the times of Atlantis and Lemuria. I was a "computer specialist" –programming sophisticated crystalline computers with a new entertainment program. Unbeknownst to me at the time, there was a "computer virus" that had been deliberately planted by dark and evil forces. The entertainment program was fed to the citizens through a helmet like contraption hooked into the computer. It operated much like a holographic program would, but with the planted virus, the program caused brain damage and death to many before it was contained. Because I was the one installing the new program, I felt guilty for the destruction, although I was cleared of any wrong-doing. Yet I have carried that guilt with me for many lifetimes, trying to correct that ancient wrong.

Well, when this woman first told me this tale, I was skeptic to say the least. Although I do admit to feeling guilt in this lifetime, that is truly unwarranted.

There other, smaller bits of information that all seemingly coming together for me too. I am unsure still of what this all means—but this caretaker position hasn’t just been a passing fad for me so far. Usually these types of interests peak after about two weeks and then fad to the background. That has been the case in my interest in astrology and Feng Shui, neither which has taken the hold that the skulls have.

Further I am being drawn to new classes and experiences that enhance the crystal skulls experience. A recent case was my attendance in a class about inter-dimensional communication –which I found fascinating and which definitely ties in with crystal skulls. I learned about merkabas and more about vibrational frequencies, which are subjects that come up in the crystal skull books.

So far it’s been a fascinating journey, as I head into December and the Christmas season of 2004.

My family of skulls have grown into the Council of Five…and I feel our journeys have just begun. I welcome the Council and these wonderful new experiences with open arms and heartfelt love…I know it will be a journey that is worthwhile, not only for myself, but no doubt for others as well.
